This was the last stay of a very long trip through multiple countries. The last part of it was a drive around Ireland with several stops, which was amazing. Seeing this hotel here on Expedia, we thought this would be the perfect conclusion to a great trip. Unfortunately it was anything but. Yes, it’s a nice, clean, “fancy” hotel in the heart of Dublin. Sadly, someone at the top has decided to strip the place of any Irish charm it might have once had and focus on the “international” element in terms of the staff. The room was not ready when we arrived and not once were we made to feel very welcome. I don’t blame the hotel for some jerkwad setting off a fire alarm at 6:30 in the morning but there was nothing to compensate for it. The breakfast was the pretty standard buffet fare - not bad, but when I tried to get a bowl of soup for my wife who’d fallen ill a little before lunchtime, I was treated like I was making some kind of ridiculous request. They also have some kind of security there who checks your room number as you go in and out at night - even if it’s for 5 minutes for a smoke. Fine if they want to keep some type of unruly elements out but they could be nicer about it. The guard was telling people to go to their rooms who were sitting in the lobby chilling out. They treat you like children there. The place was a zoo with the multiple tour groups and some kind of event going on. I voiced my concerns - still paid the same overpriced amount. Skip this place. Skip Dublin…

This is the worst hotel stay I ever had. The lady at the reception was very impolite/rude. Terrible first impression. To get to your room you have to walk through a construction side. Terrible second impression.... The fire alarm went off at 6am. Nobody was "coordinating" the situation. We had to check at the reception and they just said " yeah, false alarm". There were old people and kids barefoot... We never thought that a company like RIU would operate under this terrible circumstances and would offer such a lack of service at all levels...

We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Gresham for a family birthday celebration. The service was wonderful, there were always more than enough staff, around especially in the busy food and beverage dept. They were friendly and efficient. The only downside is the hotel is undergoing extensive refurbishments so some of the areas are dusty and noisy. I was lucky enough to be in one of the "new" rooms and I could see from other members of my family's rooms...they are in need of updating. The Gresham is in a great location and I would definitely stay there again.

My room was in the new wing. Not good. Although perfectly clean and bed comfortable - it felt more like a Travelodge. Floors in room uncarpeted and cold. Central heating fault during then night so room generally cold. Strange opaque glass between shower room and bedroom with automatic light in shower room which shines through into bedroom - not conducive to sleep. Doors banging throughout the night. Cleaners starting early, talking loudly in the corridor, trucks outside the window one morning 6.30 refuse collection, next morning 6.00am unloading...load reversing beeping... Walls very thin...baby crying in room upstairs, someone coughing in room next door...I could go on! Bar menu okay...breakfast too busy and cooked breakfast cold. I will not be staying in this hotel again. Sorry, it's become more of a cash cow hotel than a lovely Dublin experience! Expensive bad experience now!

The air conditioner did not work resulting in a very warm room, making our 1 night stay uncomfortable. This was not noticed till bed time with kids. The room we had in the 21XX block, was what appeared to be the basement or ground level part of the parking garage, certainly felt like a 2nd class portion of the hotel. Not sure I would stay again.
