Maya Ubud Resort and Spa - CHSE Certified

This was our third visit and the first with our kids. It was meant to be the final 2 days as a special treat. The booking was mixed up and we were only booked for one night. The 2 rooms that were meant to be side by side were not. The gods have certainly left Ubud. A cacophony of noise, smog and decay. Luckily for us the second day was booked in error for Maya Sanur. Day and night. A stunning resort with great staff. Bypass Ubud and head straight for Saunr.

Excellent resort and service at the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay for our honeymoon and would definitely recommend to our family and friends.

We booked for March and due to a family illness we had to put off until Aug. We requested a change in December, but they refused. Last week they accepted the change for an extra USD110 per night. Expedia did nothing. Buyer beware...

Very clean. They prepared extra sofa bed in advance as I reqired. Nice and friendly staffs. We found monkey family in our terrace. Definatly great experience.

Wonderful property. The perfect mix of sophistication and nature. The staff are very attentive and friendly. The restaurants are easy to book reservations with a large variety of local and international cuisine. Ideal for families and couples. The infinity pool overlooking the river is a must!

We chose the Maya Ubud for our first family trip to Bali and were not disappointed. The Maya is an exceptionally well run large hotel resort set in the most beautiful location, high in the lush and verdant hills of Ubud. While the gardens, architecture and the meals are stunning, the staff are the Maya's best asset. They are superb and utterly professional (from grounds staff through to front of house) and each of them works to ensure visitors have a fantastic experience. Our children loved the infinity pool and the breakfast buffets are truly superb. Seek out the afternoon teas (not to be missed) and have a massage in the day spa. We hired two garden villas for our family of four and were initially surprised the by local wildlife living in the thatched roof - but then this became part of the charm of the place, especially in the wet season, We will return to the Maya.

We had a refreshing and relaxing experience at the Maya Ubud. This hotel is a piece of paradise just a short distance from the Ubud village. The hotel is right between rice fields and a beautiful river valley. The food was excellent, the beds are comfortable, our villa was nice. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are kept in good condition. The fitness club is modern, and the pools are beautiful. We also took advantage of the spa facilities, and the massage treatment and staff were excellent. As vegetarians we found good food choices, and the hotel also has fire dances on the weekends which was a nice surprise for us when we arrived on Saturday evening after a full day of travel. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. My only note of caution to people is that the villas are right beside the forest, so be aware that there will be insects in the room, so if you are squeamish about bugs, you might want to stay in the main hotel. Also note, that this hotel is better suited for couples of families with older children

Would recommend for people looking for a quite romantic getaway. Not ideal with children
