We were extraordinarily frustrated by the dining room hostess who ruined our stay. We arrived at 8:20pm and planned to eat dinner at the hotel. We checked in with a lovely front desk person who assisted us and walked us over to the restaurant to find out what time we could get a table. Restaurant was not full and didn't close until 10:00pm, but the dining room hostess said she couldn't seat us and we'd have to dine elsewhere. There were clearly tables available, and 90+ minutes left before closing, but she said they couldn't seat our family. She offered no options or alternatives. It was ridiculously terrible service.
Stykkisholmur does not have many restaurant options. The only three we found were full or closed by the time we drove to them. Would certainly not recommend staying at this property.
