Family run property - a little gem near the Hofn area. Great place to crash after a trip to the glaciers. The restaurant on the property is a life saver as anything else is a bit of a drive away. They had a great breakfast with several home made items from the family owned farm nearby. Dinner had farm to table to entrees including lamb from the farm in which the property sits. We changed rooms from a Mountain View to an ocean view instead - which was a mistake, as we didn’t realize that there will be yours leaving for the glacier right outside our window in the morning - gets pretty noisy with those vehicles in this otherwise extremely quiet area. The owners were friendly and we hope the property stays with family for many more generations

This is a family-owned hotel with stunning views and great food. You will have waterfalls as your backyard and a sea view. There are more than 200 sheeps in the property and in the evening you will be able to see how they move the sheeps from one side to the other. This is really a beautiful farm and anything you order will be prepared fresh. I will definitely stay here again.

Nicely-done family-owned and operated hotel in a spectacular location near Vatnajokull National Park. Great breakfast spread, excellent restaurant, everything tidy & functional. It's worth it to stroll through the halls checking out all the personal tchotchkes that have been used to decorate. Also some mounted specimens which helped with bird identification. Really enjoyed 2 nights here.

This is a kinda funky family run place. The design aesthetic is early 80s with lots of taxidermy around. Our room had an eclectic array of furniture that could have come from a garage sale, in good shape and clean but again funky. The staff was amazing and the breakfast very good. For the price it was a bit of a let down but everything in Iceland is expensive. Also the location was perfect for hiking, glacier climbing and checking out the south.
