Huge windows everywhere show you the amazing landscapes of Iceland and the massive ever changing sky.
A clean, orderly well run hotel with a family feel and no pretensions.

Nice, clean family run hotel with beautiful views of lake and mountains. Conveniently located in the outskirts of Reykjavik w easy access to the main highways for day trips - Blue Lagoon, Volcano and other nearby sites.
Sara at the front desk gave thoughtful and insightful tips on sites and places to eat. We would stay here again.

Overall we had a nice stay with the beautiful lake setting and room views. We were disappointed, however, that for a remote hotel the restaurant services were not available. The first night the only option was to join the expensive buffet they’d put on for external guests event, and the second night there was no chef (because of the previous night) so we had to go out. They did give us a lift there and back which was helpful. Had we known that normal restaurant would not be available then we wouldn’t have stayed here in honesty, as it was not convenient to our circumstances - ie with returning late from an all day trip and not wishing to go back out again, plus having a diabetic child that we could not easily get food onsite for.

We stayed at the hotel on our first night in Iceland and kept thinking about it so we came back for our last night as well. We took the family room for 4 adult and had a wonderful time with lake views and a lot of space for all of us.
The room was clean, beds are super comfortable, hotel staff are very helpful and nice, breakfast was incredible (with vegan options!) and we loved talking to Steven about life on the island.

We stayed at this hotel for my wife's 40th birthday and I am so glad we did. The hotel is a short drive from Reykjavik and is set in a very quiet area on the banks of a lake. From the moment we entered the hotel all the staff were so warm and friendly and made us feel like we were staying in their home rather than a hotel. We booked the family room, which was ideal for me, my wife and our 2 teenage children. As you entered there was a bedroom with 2 single beds, a sink and mirror and plenty of storage. The hall then opened up into a small seating area with chairs and a sideboard with complimentary tea and coffee. Off to the one side was a large double bed, tv, sink and mirror, plenty of storage and a door leading out onto the decking. To the other side of the seating area was a large bathroom with a walk in shower. From the decked area you can reach the hot tub and sauna, which was wonderful to use in the chilly weather. We ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel. Both meals were a buffet style and were plentiful, tasty and hot. If the northern lights appear you can also ask the staff for a wake-up call, which they did on our last night. The hotel will also prepare a packed lunch if you require one. Complimentary tea and coffee is always served in the dining area as well. We hired a car to get around but staff will gladly drive you into town and the bus route passes nearby. I could write so much more but don't have the space. Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Great layover spot. Beautiful setting on a lake. Family run B & B style hotel with free full breakfast and wonderful common areas. Nice roomy two bedroom suite for our family. Tour bus companies picked us up at the front door. Great hospitality from the owner/manager A+

The fabric of this hotel is a work in progress, but the welcome is warm and genuine. Although there are still some finishing touches to be made to the building due to expansion and refurbishment, this did not affect our room which was cosy and spacious. This is not a corporate clone hotel, and has a warm and quiet ambiance. What really makes this hotel though are the staff, who make you feel part of the family from the moment you step in the door. The rooms are clean, the bed was comfortable and if you decide to eat there the breakfast is a good spread. During our stay, evening meals were a buffet arrangement, with several options, including a vegetarian option, something for everyone, and all very tasty. The hotel is situated at the edge of a large lake with uninterrupted views across, which can be enjoyed from the comfy seating in the common rooms. If you wish, the staff will wake you up to view the northern lights, which we were lucky enough to see.

It is nice hotel outside of the city center. It is run like a family type hotel. the owners are very nice, helpful and accommodating. It work if you rent a car. No public transportation goes to the hotel.
