One-Eight-One Hotel & Serviced Residences

My family members had an enjoyable stay, especially we are grateful for the complimentary room upgrade, bottle of wine and the courteous receptionist. Good service means most likely to have a return customer.

Room is nice and staff is very friendly and attentive. The amenities include a self-laundry room, entertainment room with video games and pool table, and a gym. Our experience unfortunately was affected by other guests who took the kids to play around in the gym while we were doing our workouts. The kids (all under 10), were playing with the weights, climbing into the machines and running around, sometimes with their parents, sometimes just by themselves. This situation happened 3 days in a row, and even though the cleaning personnel saw them and we complaint, no one came to talk to the parents. Its not only disrespectful but also dangerous to have unsupervised kids in a gym with other guests working out.

We checked in March 21 and checked out March 23 with extended check-out at 6 PM on the 23rd. When I booked the hotel on Expedia, I didn't notice $49 per night charge was added to the bill for my 11-year-old son, even though the hotel webpage on Expedia.com clearly states any children 11 or under would not incur extra charge if the child does not require additional bed. When checked into the hotel room, I noticed an extra folding bed was in the room which we didn't need, so we called the front desk to remove it. At this point I realized Expedia over-charged $98 for my son for the entire stay. Hotel staff came to remove the extra bed around 8 PM on the 21st. Shortly after, they called our room about the extra charge. My husband showed them the child policy on Expedia site and told them we would not pay for something we didn't use. They seemed to agree. At 6 PM on March 23rd, while checking out, without me asking, the young lady at the front desk told me that they could not refund me directly because Expedia charged me directly when I booked the hotel, but they already contacted Expedia about this incident such that I should call Expedia to get a refund. On March 25, we called Expedia. On March 27, Expedia came back saying that after multiple tries, they weren't able to obtain an approval from the property manager to waive the charge fee. We would not change the low rating until you both work together to resolve the issue (Expedia itinerary 72784453816863).

The service was excellent. Clean and super modern facilities. Slept like a baby.

The only place in HK which provide customer service and the staff are all very friendly. Going the extra miles to show you the way, giving you recommendations on where to go and when the room type which i booked is unable to add a extra bed, they provide me a complimentary upgrade to a bigger room as it’s my birthday. The size of the room was great. They give kids amenities such as kids utensil and kids bedroom slipper. Only 3mins walk to MTR station and there is ding ding tram right behind which brings you to central if you wish to experience it. This hotel makes me feel at home.

Absolutely wonderful place. The concierge are the best I’ve ever come across and couldn’t do enough for us. We had a 6 month old baby with us and the hotel organised all the necessary for us like cot, bottle steriliser etc. The concierge were so helpful the entire trip, it really felt like we were VIPs - friendly, polite, helped us with everything like loading/unloading taxis, bringing our food takeouts up to our room, bringing us extra water bottles etc whenever we asked. The service was superb. It made it such an enjoyable stay. Very nice and clean room, great location. We will definitely he staying there again - thanks guys!
