ibis Styles Düsseldorf - Neuss

Buona posizione a poca distanza (15 minuti a piedi) dal centro storico di Neuss. Design un po' sui generis, con colori da zona giochi per bambini. Personale cortese. Colazione buona (anche il caffè non è male). Camere abbastanza confortevoli con bagno ben accessoriato e moderno. Il problema è l'eccessiva rumorosità delle camere, con pareti molto sottili per cui si sente ogni rumore dalle stanze vicine e dai corridoi. Non proprio il massimo per passare notti tranquille. Good position within 15 min walking distance form Neuss city centre. Design is a bit peculiar, with very bright colors that would be more suited for a children's playground, Rooms are quite comfortable, clean and with modern and well equipped bathroom. The problem is the excessive noise, due to the thin walls, so that one can hear all the door shutting, chatting, banging and thumping from the other rooms and from the corridor, Not exactly the best choice for the shallow sleepers...

If I could give it negative stars I would. Let's begin by the horrible and loud kindergarten-ish decor and toddler sized sink that i couldn't even wash a pair of underwear in. There is no floor space so our luggage had to remain standing. Since there were no shelves or drawers (only about 5 hangers in the closet) there was no where to put away our clothes. We had to put the suitcase on the bed- get our stuff out, zip up suitcase, stand it up next to the bed- repeat times 12 in the one night we suffered there! The size of the work desk was a joke- doubtful it could even fit a computer on it! No air conditioning & it was about 78 degrees & very muggy. They had no fans for their patrons so my husband and I had to take a taxi just to go buy a fan. There are no restaurants or shops in the area unless you walk 20+ minutes to the city center. No store or vending machines to buy snacks or drinks even. The staff was rude, unfriendly and unapologetic for the temperature in the room. We wanted out of there and despite the fact that they'd jacked up the price by like 300% due to a conference in Dusseldorf that my husband was attending they refused to issue us any more than $77 refund on the $1300 we paid for 5 nights there. Not even one full night refunded! Because my husband was on a business trip & needed a comfortable room to work in we moved regardless. Expedia reps were great at assisting with the dispute & did everything they could to offer a refund (they covered some of our loss)
