Hotel Am Sportpark

We have spent just 1 night during our journey coming back from England were we took part in some training. We were very happy to choose this hotel. It was really sharp contrast to average and overpriced English hotels. Members of the family who runs this hotel were very kind and prepared to help (really help and not just talking and doing nothing like Englishmen). The hotel is about 1 km far from nice park through which you can walk/run to the six lakes attraction. Jogging there was very pleasant experience after which we relaxed in the room before dinner. We could manage all due to early check-in starting at noon. Our room was not completely new, but the most essential parts such as bathroom, comfortable beds and flat TV screen were. The tasty breakfast enhanced wonderful price-quality ratio. The only inconvenience was the absence of thicker curtains. The street lighting lit quite strongly whole night into our room. Because we live in a city that did not bother us much but it might be found difficult by someone who is not used to that.

Excellent service! This is how customers are turned into delighted guests! Many big hotels can learn over here how it’s done! It actually is a nice and easy, small family hotel. With decent rooms, very nice facilities, but on top of that a family who runs the hotel, that is really perfect in hostmanship :-) Even with relatively small rooms (brand new bathroom and a great 50” flatscreen though), a too cold pool (perfect privacy, great hygiëne and very comfortable access though) and located at a boring part of the city (direct near the highway, free parking at the premisses and only a 10 minute drive to the city center though), this hotel still creates customer delight by how welcoming it is :-) If we’d visit Duisburg again, we’ll be here again.
