Gideon Designhotel

We booked two of the same rooms for our family of 4 (2 teens & parents) thru Expedia but we were given two different sized rooms at check in. The smaller one was too small for 2 people and as a result my husband indicated he would not stay there again if given that room. The larger room was comfortable for 2. Both were clean and well maintained. Also experienced some issues at check in with their “online” checkin process. After completing everything in their online system two times (due to 2 rooms) they couldn’t get it to update and finally ended up having to write it all down manually. Their electronic checkin process needs improvement! Additionally, parking is not very convenient due to being a garage that is a bit of a hike with suitcases. Otherwise location was nice and in a great area of town. Lots of restaurants & shopping nearby.

The staff in the lobby was not well informed/trained. We had prepaid our stay for all family members, but they insisted that we pay for additional beds. Also, the rooms were not ready by check-in time. At checkout, the night manager left some cryptic info to the morning staff that suggested we pay an additional 100 EUR. I refused all of the extra payments and pointed out that my stay was prepaid via Hotels.com. We handed in the keycards and left. I will not be staying here again.
