Novotel Bordeaux Centre

in general, good hotel, good location, friendly staff. On the downside, beds not so comfy, not sure the A/C worked (was hot), and the breakfast is too expensive, should be lower for people staying in the hotel, or should have 'family' packages

I had a confirmed hotel reservation. But when I arrived at the hotel, I was not settled. because they didn't have my reservation in their system. I was not allowed to stay at the hotel with my children. and I stayed outside at night. PLEASE REFUND MY MONEY!

Only one small bottle of water for a family of 4 unacceptable. Air con was not very cold Outside area of the hotel was disgusting. Total contrast to inside the hotel which was great but made us very wary on arrival. Staff were great!!!

This hotel was just ok. Room was very small and a bit out dated with a musty smell. Our last night the AC didn't work well and we were very uncomfortable. It had been ok initially. We were a family of 4 and found it difficult to navigate the small space. Lobby was nice though staff didn't seem to want to help much unless you approached them. The area was just ok - not far from some really nice things and the above ground metro was close. Be mindful there are 2 Novotel properties in Bordeaux so make sure you know which one you are booking. There was no coffeemaker in the room and the hairdryer was really ancient. We stayed in France for 2 weeks and this was our least favorite property of our vacation. We stayed at a Novotel in the previous city we visited and it was much nicer than this one in Bordeaux. There was a pinball machine in the lobby (free) which my son loved!

Overall we were disappointed with this hotel. The children's play room was nice, but although there were many signs indicating parents must supervise their children, I was usually the only parent in the room -- full of wildly behaved children without a parent in sight! The elevator was not in service while we were there which was inconvient. But, the worst was the ongoing renovations on the floor above us. There was constant hammering/sawing all day long. I eventually complained to the front desk about the noise at 6:30pm and they shut-down for the evening. This drove us crazy when traveling with small children needing an afternoon nap.
