Maison Axel Opera

The hotel was nice and in a great area but we had a very odd experience on check in. We called ahead to request a baby bed (for our 2y/o) to be placed in the room but they said it wouldn’t fit. We asked again when we arrived but they again said it wouldn’t fit, and they wouldn’t give us an extra duvet for the floor instead. When we entered the room it was clearly big enough to fit a baby bed. My husband went down to reception and asked for the bed to be told it wouldn’t fit / it wouldn’t fit in the lift (it would) / they weren’t allowed. It was bizarre, we stay regularly in hotels and have never experienced this before.

The hotel is located in a very nice neighborhood walking distance to Opera; 2 min to Metro that gets you to Major sight seeing in 5-10 minutes. Many major sights like Sacré Cœur and Marais are 15 min walking distance. Located in a wonderful place with local authentic parisien cafe n restaurant where you see local people & can be outside till very late without worrying about Metro etc to come back to hotel. Very clean all over the hotel; nice comfy beds & excellent air conditioning. Yes the rooms are small but not for Europe room size standard . Staff : very nice always Ava friendly n helpful . 50 min by direct shuttle from CDG aéroport . Make sure you know which train to get to the hotel. Walking can be confusing if you don’t have gps( again map of Paris is different). You’ll see from families to young people ( night Life in neighborhood) to elderly. Definitely recommend:)
