Ed and the Mango Bay team went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay and an amazing week in Fiji.
We stayed in an oceanview bungalow which was close to the pool and restaurant/bar area and really comfortable with a lovely outdoor shower and the convenience of a fridge in the room.
Continental breakfast was included in our booking served from 7:30-9:30. It had the normal coffee/tea/juice/toast and cereal and also included fresh fruit and a local pastry. Food is available all day and is lovely and fresh with daily specials which always include a local fish recipe. The cocktails are great too and you can’t beat having a pina colada in the pool!
The pool is lovely and big with sun loungers and a couple of cabanas. There are standup paddle boards, kayaks and snorkels/masks which guests can use for free at high tide. You can also walk along the beach/reef at low tide.
Ed was really knowledgable about local tours and booked the tubing tour for us (not to be missed) as well as giving us advice on getting the local bus so we could do the Bula coffee tour (also recommended) and see the town of Sigatoka. We also arranged a transfer direct with the hotel which was much easier (and cheaper) than using a local company.
Overall we had a greet stay and were made to feel really welcome and part of the Mango Bay family!

I can't say enough good things about this resort. We arrived late because of flight delays but they had someone waiting for us to greet us at the resort gate. They kept the kitchen open so we could have something to eat. Right from the start, everyone was extremely helpful, friendly and professional. We stayed in an ocean front Bure and it was everything I was hoping for. A thatched hut, shower outside to give an authentic experience. The food was the best we ate in Fiji and reasonably priced . Mango, Kelanie and Pablo the resident dogs are there if you are missing your fur baby at home and so super friendly. Atmosphere is Fiji time so if you want to relax you have the spot. Plenty of water equipment to snorkel, sea kayaking, day trips as much or as little as you want. Ed the owner is very accommodating to you needs so if you forgot anything, ask Ed. I wish we were closer than half way around the world away or I would go more often. Thanks Ed and staff for an amazing experience.

I liked the overall atmosphere of the resort, very small and intimate. Beautiful coral beach at the front and postcard like palm trees everywhere. Lush vegetation in the surroundings and the burés are scattered through the gardens. The sunsets over the ocean were pretty amazing.
On the negative side, not many comforts or services. The room was very simple, eco-friendly, almost no light to see anything, much less read. Beware of the mosquitos at night, they will eat you alive, though it was a nice touch the net at the top of the bed. Very simple room, with a fridge and cupboard. The bathroom outside was beautiful, but it was a bit daunting going to the toilet in the morning sun at 35 degrees. There weren't many things to do at the hotel. Very few services. There was a boat you could hire to go to the islands, but we were informed it had been booked by a family for 4 days and we couldnt use it. That was very disappointing. Apart from that, don't expect any inclusions. The breakfast which was allegedlt included in the price was ridiculous... just frosties, fruit and toast. Anything else you had to pay aside. You actually had to pay for anything you wanted to use, except the snorkelling gear which was free (though the snorkelling in front of the hotel was very limited). The food was the worst thing about the resort, pretty average and very expensive.
Staff were friendly and made you feel at home. For that reason only I would rate it with 2-3 stars.

We stayed here 12 years ago, when we had a wonderful stay. The location was and still is stunning. This trip we brought our children and they loved the pool and the beach. The food was okay, some of the portions were quite small, although the chef was very helpful in preparing vegan dishes for us. We stayed in a garden lodge, but didn't realise it was attached to another lodge, which meant we could hear everything in the next room, as well as the very noisy kids in the lodge across from us. It seems as if management haven't kept up with the maintenance, ie there were many holes in the bure roof, a bird even popped in one morning! The site would definitely benefit from more attention to detail especially to cleanliness in the guest rooms. The staff are all so lovely and friendly, even remembering our names. The bar closes at 11pm, it would be nice if it could open a bit later. There's no air con onsite, which is preventing us from rebooking, which is such a shame as we love it here.

I loved how secluded and quiet the resort is and it has a lovely family feel. It was nice to go to a resort that isn't overrun by tourists. What let the resort down was the cleanliness of the bure, particularly the bathrrom and that there was not any furniture to sit on in the bure. There was space to have a table and chairs but there was nothing. It would have been nice to sit at a table to play board games at night. The staff were a little unfriendly when we arrived but then they began to warm up the next day.
