Visiting The Avila Resort and Spa was delightful. It was just the getaway I needed. The facilities and grounds were immaculate. My room was very well-appointed, with a nice view of the ocean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They made me feel like part of the family. Xavier was excellent and was my go-to while there. He was very personable and made me feel right at home. The young man who served as my bellhop on arrival was very kind and greeted me each time he saw me. Sharnon (Sp) at the Blues was very accommodating and friendly! He was my server on both nights I visited. I can't say enough about my stay at Avila. I can't wait to return.

This is a lovely property. Our beachfront apartment was gorgeous, the breakfast was delicious (mimosas included!) and we enjoyed both beaches. The pool is nothing special but our kids still loved it. Our only complaint was they attempted a bit of a bait and switch on our room. We reserved a beachfront 2 bedroom. When we arrived, they "upgraded" us to a 3 bedroom non beachfront. The apartment was amazing ... but not on the beach. We had to wait two days to get moved into the apartment we had originally reserved. This left a bad taste in our mouths from an otherwise lovely trip.

A few months before our stay I requested, through a direct email with the property, a room upgrade to the oceanfront blueswing room and received a response and confirmation email. Upon arrival I was told the upgrade was never updated in their system; the receptionist contacted the reservations department. The reservations department made it seem like I was the one who never confirmed the upgrade even though I have the email from the team member saying the upgrade was confirmed. Being accused of doing something wrong instead of the hotel just admitting to the fault really made me upset. Additionally, the upgraded room was to be a romantic valentines day surprise and not having our intended room really put a damper on the week. The receptionist was very kind and ended up finding a small ‘upgrade’ from our original booking and a simple apology for the confusion which was appreciated. However, this still isn’t comparable to what I had originally planned for the expensive week. The room we were put in was a connecting room to a couple with screaming kids (on both sides), along with the toddlers trying to open the connecting door. Not the romantic vacation I was hoping for. The room itself was clean and nice and the staff did well to change linens. The area around the hotel is very rundown and seems a little unsafe. I was really hoping for a better stay as our first time in Curacao and Avila but unfortunately won’t be recommending to friends/family in the future.

Maybe the best kept secret of the Caribbean. Everything about our stay was perfect. We had an ocean front, 2 bedroom apartment that looked like it was just built. Everything shiny new and sparkling clean. Plenty of amenities. The location and the grounds are perfect. Both restaurants are excellent, the Blues is particularly special on Thursday nights with a live band on a raised stage. Service was impeccable. Our in room coffee maker broke and was replaced within 20 minutes of our call. The snorkeling is incredible right off the beach. Even the youngest kids can safely enjoy it. Easy walk to Willemstatd and plenty of excellent bars and restaurants between them. We are definitely coming back, next time with the family. Thank you.

The two bedroom apartments are an absolute must when booking this property. They are new modern, clean and massive. The one bedroom apartments are great too but they’re a bit more run down and dated. Both worked for us quite well depending on what your needs are. The beaches on this property are like none I’ve ever been to before. They have blocked waves from coming in so it’s calm, and great for kids to swim in. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The property is clean and felt safe. The neighbourhood to get here felt a bit unsafe to drive through but the property was great. It is so close to downtown Willemstad with great shopping and restaurants at your finger tips. This property was truly phenomenal and a special shout out to Anouk one of the managers who went above and beyond for us.

I just returned from a 7 night stay at the Avila Beach Hotel with my family of five. We had a great time and I would highly recommend this hotel. The pictures of the beach and water are not doctored in any way. The water was that blue and the beach was beautiful! We never had to fight for beach chairs when we came down at 9 AM and always found a place with plenty of shade. Definitely snorkel because the reef and fish are beautiful. We also enjoyed paddle boarding. We stayed in the newly renovated Octagon deluxe rooms which were quite comfortable. They had a great soaking tub to relax in. They had a great gym with plenty of room and equipment. I also had a massage which was heavenly. We received the free buffet breakfast every morning as an upgrade from Expedia. Everyone at the hotel was super nice and so accommodating. A huge shoutout to Diavenaylea, our beach server, who took such great care of us every day. The infinity pool was a lot larger than expected and the crows nest was a great place to watch the sunset every night. Across the street from the hotel were about a dozen restaurants to walk to. We ate dinner at the hotel just one night and it was a BBQ which was fine. They had people playing music or a DJ in the evening.
Curaçao is a very quiet, relaxing island which was exactly what we were looking for.

The welcome juice upon arrival is amazing… I didnt like that I “paid” for King bed and then was told that it its not a guarantee, my husband and I are not small in a full size bed wasn’t comfortable. The beach breath taking views!!!! The food is amazing!!! (Although they take a long time to make) Dont misss the BBQ buffet and breakfast buffet!!!! (I wish they monitored thr pool more too many kids jumping in)

This place had so much potential. It’s the oldest hotel on the island but it’s had many updates. It’s got two lovely beaches two restaurants, 2 bars, a gym and several different buildings with rooms/apartments in them. With that being said, we arrived and were shown to our room by a bellman who was very friendly and helpful, initial impressions of the room were good. Balcony overlooking the ocean. Big bed, decent bathroom. The next morning we were awoken by VERY loud construction at 8am. We spoke to two managers and were eventually handled by a very professional manager named Farley who really was great and definitely went out of his way to help us out and we really appreciated it. After 2 early mornings/days of nonstop construction we got moved to a room on the opposite side of the hotel. It had a really great view and a big balcony with comfy furniture overlooking the beach. Unfortunately, our room was designed with a connecting door to the other apartment style room next to us and had absolutely no sound proofing so we were awoken in the middle of the night by a crying baby three times in 1 night that sounded like it could have been in our room, and I was wearing earplugs. The hallway/elevator room design was basically a giant sound tube so we could hear every syllable spoken by every person in the hallway. Not great. Also there was a new person every time we went to the bar and not a single one of them seem to know how to make cocktails. I never got the same drink twice.
