La Mariposa Hotel

I have never felt more welcomed and more part of "the family" than I did at La Mariposa. Facilities were excellent, views were excellent, food was excellent, and the staff was superb. Allen was so very helpful and friendly, as they all were.

This hotel is nothing short of amazing. The views are fantastic. The rooms are very well kept. The staff is exceedingly friendly. The restaurant in the hotel is amazing. The pool is great with amazing views of the beaches below. They can pretty much set you up with any activity you want, from mangrove swamp tours, to hiking at night or through waterfalls, to surf lessons, tours of Manuel Antonio Park, etc. This was my second time to visit Costa Rica and by far the best experience. The hotel isn’t large but it acts like a 5-star hotel at 3-star prices. Food is a bit expensive at the restaurant, but it is pricey everywhere in this area and not especially so here. I really have no complaints up to what is going to be our last day here. The kids wish they could stay another week and frankly so do I. We saw macaws from the balcony, a sloth climbing in the lobby, geckos on the windows, and one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen from a hotel in my life (and I have traveled the world A LOT). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a great stay at La Mariposa. I was so comfortable arriving alone on my first day. The view is unmatched and the staff is so accommodating and friendly. They felt like family and friends. The shower was hot and good pressure. I would have liked more towels offered in the rooms, but it seems they are working to regulate lost items. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I look forward to trying to return again!

La Mariposa felt like home away from home! The property was serene and beautiful with stunning jungle and ocean views! Every morning we were greeted by a kind and courteous staff who attended to our family during the delicious continental breakfast. The location was safe, family-friendly, and close to some amazing restaurants. We will never forget our stay at La Mariposa, and hope to be back soon!

Wonderful hotel with extraordinary views of the ocean! The sunrise/sunset rooms have panoramic view off the balcony and are worth the upgrade. The breakfast included every morning is great and offers a variety of foods for adults and children, lots of options. The r property is beautiful. We saw macaws, butterflies, lizards and even a sloth! The AC in the rooms works great. Our only suggestion is to be a little more generous with the towels. One per person isn’t always enough! When we requested more they did always respond quickly. Overall, a fantastic hotel very convenient to all Manuel Antonio has to offer!

Me and my family had a wonderful stay. We saw a lot of cool birds, saw a sloth while having diner at the on site restaurant. The pool was never crowded and the staff was very kind. Thank you for the great memories.

Overall nice hotel. Positives: - beautiful views - saw tons of wildlife on the property: monkeys, Scarlett macaws, toucans, iguanas, etc. -convenient location- walking distance to many restaurants, stores, etc. Negatives: - if you are looking for a quiet hotel, this is not it. Lots of families here and the pool was always crowded/questionably clean because of so many kids - food wasn’t the best at the hotel, thought it would be a lot better - the bed was not very comfortable but everything was very clean in the room

Broken elevator made the stay problematic as we were travelling with our baby.

We had an amazing time here with a family of 11 ranging from 12 to 76 years old. The property is beautiful and very well kept. Staff very kind and accommodating. Lots of wildlife seen everyday. White face monkeys, Spider monkeys, spiny tail iguanas, frogs, Scarlet macaw and a sloth just right outside the entrance.Walking distance to lots of restaurants.

The pictures don’t do this hotel justice. It is beautiful - the scenery is breathtaking, including the view we had from our room! All of the staff was super helpful & went out of their way to assist with anything we needed. They arranged excursions, gave recommendations, and scheduled transportation when we needed it. The shuttle to/from the beach was very convenient! The breakfast was delicious, not to mention the view while eating! They also provided towels for the pool and/or beach, so no worries about having to pack and bring your own! As a matter of personal preference, I did find the mattress a little firm for my liking and it would have been convenient for my kids if we had a microwave in the room. But the location was great for walking to restaurants near by & you can always call for a taxi if you prefer to go to Quepos for more options. I would definitely stay here again!
