This property is magical. The view feels like a private oasis in the mountains. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The accommodations are exactly as pictured but the views are impossible to capture. The pool is a great with cool water and in room coffee and a fridge were unexpected treats! Housekeeping came each day to refresh and restock supplies to keep us tidy. Horseback riding with Mingo booked through La Mansion was the best experience of our entire trip! It was just our family of 4 through the farmlands, mountains and rain forest. He took as at our speed and let us jog the horses a little. The animals were beautiful, well-behaved and well cared for! We got even more out of this experience because we speak some Spanish but you will love it either way. We spotted lots of toucans in the trees and the views with picture spots were great! We enjoyed a light dinner and a full meal on two separate occasions and they were both good! Daily breakfast included in the rate made it easy to start the drives to activities easier. The staff in the restaurant are all super accommodating and friendly! There is a Spanish restaurant w/in walking distance along with shops for snacks and coffee. We didn’t try them but were happy to see after reading earlier reviews. Our favorite spot was a pizza and burger place just a few minutes away. Eclectic and great vibe! Driving at night without street lights is tough on the curves so eating nearby felt important to us.

We had the most wonderful experience at La Mansion! Our room/casita was perfect for our family of 5, and the views from anywhere on the property were spectacular, especially at sunset. The service was outstanding - from the restaurant staff to the reception hosts - making us feel welcome the minute we arrived. Our reception host walked us to our room, explaining the area and even getting us a couple of Imperials when we mentioned a beer sounding good after a long day of driving and hiking. We highly recommend La Mansion and would definitely stay here again and again!

A very cozy and small operation, but very well run! My family absolutely loved this place… Cesar is amazing to work with and the staff goes out of their way to make everyone comfortable. A great way to experience awesome local hospitality! Almost all the key attractions in arenal are in driving distance, so very convenient overall. Highly recommend!

Booked our villa for 3 days thinking that we would be bored by then. But we found too many things to see and do in LaFortuna area so we booked a 4th at this same place and did not look for another. Caesar, Kiko, Louise and Christopher could not have possibly been more pleasant and accommodating. The View from our Villa was, by far, the best we had in our 8 days in CR. The food at the Masion's "Bistro" was the best we had on our whole trip. The pool area was a little tired and in need of repair and the games rooms needed some cleaning but given the food, service and view and the fact we did not use these facilities very much I could over look that. The grounds, gardens, were high-end resort level and beyond. My 15 and 17 year old kids did not want to leave and parting was emotional for them. Additionally, if you like driving winding roads and spectacular views, the drive into LaFortuna was a bonus for me, not a negative. PS: just north of the Mansion is a 500 year old ceiba tree, worth a visit.

This was our first time to Costa Rica and I choose this booking from the images and previous reviews on Expedia. Well what a beautiful place to stay and chill out at. The website photos are a proper indicator of what you will see, waking up to the sunrise over the lake whilst enjoying a coffee were breathtaking. The accommodation was perfect, good size and clean. The staff were super friendly and very helpful, when it came to anything you needed. Whether it was booking excursions or booking a meal for lunch or supper. The restaurant and bar area were great, the beer was lovely and it was very welcoming. The hot pool and swimming pool with their infinity pool experience, we’re such a great place to relax also. All in all I cannot recommend this enough. I know people like to travel around and maybe only stay one or two nights in a new location, but we stayed for 9 days and did day trips out and came back for the evening, which I preferred to do. Cesar, George, Nella, Chris and Louis were super friendly, helpful and welcoming to our family and all guests who came. Alan from Crazy Alan tours was a wealth of knowledge and his tours were an eye opener and fun to do. He made time for you and any questions you had! Nothing was too much. Loved this place and we would go back in a heartbeat.

Serene and unlike anywhere else. This is the second time we’ve stayed at this property and we are already planning our 3rd trip here. The staff is friendly, attentive and the location of the property is gorgeous. The positioning of every room allows you to have a breathtaking view. If I could give a higher rating, I would. My family loves this place.

Not only was each cottage separated so there were neighbors, but there was no noise or door slamming noise typical of hotels. The staff—there are no words—they were the absolute BEST!!!! Restaurant waiters were also concierge, pool service, anything you needed. The animal life was beautiful to watch—horses, cows, birds, the inn cat that was so well attended to, and mostly they allowed my love of the farm dog (my name for him was ‘Henry’) from up the hill. He became my adopted baby for the week and promised to care for him as I had to leave 😢. If you want outstanding food, friends, and a home away from home while in Arenal region— don’t think twice. But if you get room 6 or 7, please love Henry for me until I have a chance to get back 🐾❤️🐸. Pura Vida and all the thanks in the world from the Wilson family 😊😘

We had the most wonderful week at La Mansion. We did the horseback riding tour and the boat tour offered by the hotel-- both were amazing. Our kids had so much fun in the pool. The staff is so friendly and kind. They hooked us up with a guide (Crazy Allan) who took us on hikes, showed us good little restaurants for lunch, and we got to see so much wildlife and beautiful places we wouldn't have gone without him. The food at the restaurant (The Bistro) was wonderful-- we are really missing the breakfast! There are other restaurants nearby as well-- we really enjoyed one called Gingerbread. The area is just gorgeous-- we were so sad to leave!

We had a fabulous trip! We stayed here for 3 nights and after a long 6 ish hour drive from San Jose were greeted happily and shown to our junior suite. The pictures do not show the true beauty of this inn! Trust me! What makes it absolutely top notch is the service provided by their employees. Both Chris and George went out of their way to help with seeing local spots and finding great places for our son to try fishing in Costa Rica! I cannot recommend this place more if you are looking for affordable lodging in the area!
