The property is as lovely advertised. However, the unfriendly staff, ridiculous charging policy and bad food is what ruined it for us. We were charged $100/day in addition to our contracted rate because we had our daughter checked in with us under a 2p reservation. I am more than willing to pay the additonal fee because of my booking error, however, it did not come with a room upgrade or even a cot to accomdate the additional person in a single king bed room. Making matters even worse, our family got food poisoning after our first dinner there. This caused us to miss out on a prepaid tour the next day. When we reported this to the front desk, their reaction was less than empathetic or bother to ask our names or what room we were in. I cannot recommend this property based on customer service. There are lots of nice properties in the area which i am sure would have provided us a nicer experience.

I did not like that we had to pay an additional $50 per night for my 10 year old daughter, but then were not provided with a roll away bed for her or even a towel. Our "view" was of a construction site. Our room was a "family suite", but it was just one giant room without even a sofa to sit on. It was not very family friendly. There seemed to be no perks to staying on-site at Baldi, other than breakfast. It was crowded by outside guests using the pools all but the very early morning hours.

The resort was beautiful and had amazing hot spring choices of 25 pools. The place is clean the water gets drained out every night. They sanitizes the place. The service sucks in the front desk, they are not friendly at all. They charged a lot for money for having extra kids in the room. It’s not it’s an all inclusive resort where they need to charge $100 a day for a child. I would recommend this place because it’s beautiful but it’s over prices for no reason. This resort also has day pass for outsiders. So they caters for outside guest more then the people who are staying there.

This experience was amazing. The hot springs are so wonderful and the different levels of heat gives a number of options for travelers. The property was clean and the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast which was included was very good. The only negative was the high cost of some of the cocktails. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to friends and family and intend to return myself.

Hot spring are amazing !! Besides that, everything else is ok. Breakfast is low grade quality and not that many options. Lunch and dinner not good either and very expensive. Charges $8 for bottle of sparkling water!!! Staff is not friendly and helpful at all. We arrived at resort 12:30pm, they made us wait till 3pm for the room even though room was ready!!! Slides in kids area is not safe at all. Baldi needs improvement on quality of food and more friendly behavior from the staff especially with the amount of money they charge per night . Rooms are okay!!

Overpriced. Paid $$$ so expectations were fairly high - bathtub was dirty upon arrival, maid service forgot duvet cover second night ick. Smelly bathrooms in hotel room. Don’t even think about having any of the tempting water or treats placed in your hotel room - you’ll pay for it. Ground staff were nice. Very stingy about towels - if you need a new towel for pool you need to call front desk and wait for them to deliver to you. Hotel itself has one limited view of Arenal from the grounds, unlike others in the area. Noisy, filled with day passers Basically a water park at Fortuna. Not a relaxing experience I say go for a day pass if you have kids but definitely don’t stay there. Lots of nicer options in the area

Good place to stay while in La Fortuna. Water slides for kids and relax time watching for adults.

The property it’s self was gorgeous, however the policy’s for the hotel are ridiculous. They literally count the number of people that you have in your room, and charge you per person. When we booked the hotel, we only booked the stay for 2 people, however we ended up bringing our kids. Once they saw our kids, they then added an extra $100 for the stay in the room. In addition I would like to note that the water slides are extremely fast and unsafe in the kids area. Specifically the blue big slide. It goes soooo fast, and If you’re not holding your head up the whole the up you could hurt yourself. Also the middle big slide in the adult area flipped my husband upside down and he landed on his shoulder. These would never be allowed in America due to safety.

Baldi Hot Springs is incredibly impressive at first glance, the facilities are beautiful and there are quite a few options for pools. The staff at the front desk were wonderful, but all the other staff was pretty rude and unhelpful. No one smiled or waved or was friendly in any way, they definitely do not have a customer service-oriented culture. The food was relatively expensive and the dinner buffet was atrocious! It was literally the worst buffet we've ever been to, and we've been to some awful buffets. The breakfast buffet was better. Overall, we far preferred a neighboring resort that was far less expensive and was the perfect vibe and offered the amenities we were looking for for your family of 5 (kids 9, 12, 21).

I stayed at this resort about 12 years ago and it has really changed. It is no longer a family-oriented hotel. I traveled with my husband and son and to our surprise the facial tissue had a blood stain. The room wasn't clean and there was hair under the bed. The rooms and bathrooms have a dark color that make them look very gloomy and our stay there was not pleasant at all.
