If I could give 100 stars for this gem I would !!! The absolute greatest staff, owners, management, family atmosphere, food, location, cleanliness, activities, scenery, animals, accommodations, etc., etc., etc. !!!! There's truly no rating high enough for this little piece of paradise ........ close to Salento, as well as the Corcoran Valley !!!! A real live functional dairy farm where you can see, learn, and experience the daily life of what it truly takes to put milk, cheese, butter, and yogurt on your table !!! I can't say enough about the staff and owners ...... how helpful, kind, accommodating, and just willing to do anything possible to make sure everyone is at the peak of happiness and contentment !!! I LOVE THIS PLACE, and will be back with more gringos soon !!!

I LOVED this hotel on a finca (ranch) in the country about a 5 minute drive to Salento! It’s amazingly gorgeous. Sebastian is very friendly and got me checked in right away. The first room I got was tiny so I asked if they had another larger room. No problem. Thy are very accommodating. So I was taken to room 12 which is stunning. Very large room with windows on two walls, the size of the walls, looking out to the incredible scenery with cows and chickens and other birds flying around. Like other reviewers said, after about an hour and a delicious lunch there, I felt like I was part of the family and had been there for years. The whole staff is so friendly. This is one of the best and nicest hotel rooms I’ve ever had around the world. It’s tastefully decorated and just so peaceful. The meals are great and the horseback ride I went on with their handler was terrific. Beautiful ride to an incredible waterfall.
Such a great place and I would highly recommend it!!

We stayed at La Cabana with our 2 children aged 4 and 6. We all absolutely loved it. The owners, especially the eldest daughter Maria (who is completely fluent in English having attended an American school), could not have done more for us including lifts into Salento, taking us to the family friendly Tejo (gunpowder game) bar, booking shared jeeps with other guests to the wax palms, tickets to a coffee plantation, a taxi to the airport in Pereira and taking us all to try milking their cows on their neighbouring dairy farm. La Cabana is in the most beautiful and peaceful location - next to a river you can swim in, surrounding by birds including hummingbirds and lots of fruit trees. The breakfast is varied and delicious. We had one evening meal there and that was great too. Salento itself is busier than we thought, so it was great being just outside (a private jeep back was £3, a shared one going in the right direction and dropping us off was £1), enjoying the scenery and lazing in the many hammocks. It was just as nice as the fancy boutique hotel we stayed in in Cartagena, but only a quarter of the cost. I can’t recommend it enough. Just book it, you won’t be disappointed.

Whilst we have had much better rooms for the money- the stay at La Cabana can not be beaten
The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, Hector, his family and staff can not do enough for you and the food is excellent with coffee, tea, water and cookies constantly available
La Cabana is situated a few kms out of Salento but Hector or Maria will drive you to a coffee finca/ start of a hike - or arrange transport for you
Their concern for your holiday enjoyment is exceptional, even when compared with the friendliness we have experienced in Colombia
Do NOT miss staying here

I really enjoyed staying here. It felt like staying at the finca with hector and his family versus staying at a farm. The location was beauitiful and the service was top notch. It was cool to wake up to roosters and cows.

I arrived after dark. Maria Camila, the owner's daughter picked me up from town (it's about a 5-minute drive). I couldn't see much as it was dark but my room was large and had everything I needed. Maria delivered dinner to myself and the couple next door for us to enjoy at the seating area outside our rooms.
When I awoke the following day and looked outside, it's like I entered a movie. It was truly paradise. 63 countries and I've never seen a place so beautiful.
The service is fantastic and there's nothing Hector (the owner) and his team wouldn't do for you. I enjoyed a horseback ride right from the farm, played with the dogs, got to know others staying there, and was made to feel like family. I loved Hector's special beef cooked in the fire. The meal included toasted marshmellows for dessert and Hector playing guitar and singing (a great voice).
There are some moths and other random harmless bugs which enter your room through cracks under doors and other random spots and are attracted to the light but don't let that stop you from coming. This is a farm and is not in the center of a noisy town and any creatures calm down when the lights go out.
This is an amazing place and will be a highlight of your trip. And sitting just between Salento town and the Corcora Valley, the location is perfect.
I will return next year and hope to see you there.
