Hotel Casona del Colegio

This was a super disappointing stay. The property is very aesthetically pleasing. You are in the center of the old city and it does look beautiful if you have a balcony view. This was a 7 night stay. During checkin I was informed my room was double booked and I’d in my be staying 4 nights and will be moved to another for 2 and then another for the last night. Very disappointed and to add there was miscommunication during the last move where we packed the night before and then told we would actually be staying. Room change was an obvious downgrade and wasn’t able to get compensated in any way. During checkout I spoke with manager to voice frustration and he just put his staff on the spot and reprimanded her as if it was her fault. The room we initially stayed in was very nice with great views of the city but the power would go out at least twice a day for a few minutes so it wouldn’t stay as cool as we wanted it to. If you do opt to stay her I’d recommend a short stay maybe 1-3 nights and opt to stay at a Hyatt for the rest. The city is extremely touristy and unfortunately comes with all the evil of that. As soon as you walk out there are vendors following you to the point of harassment. It is a party hub so there is also a lot of prostitution around this area and many young children and young mothers asking for money around this area. I’ve been to other cities in Colombia and this one was very problematic. You will most likely get scammed if you are not assertive and smart.
