Great stay. Cameron my son for four days. Perfect for families. Food was great. Service was excellent! The hotel needs some updating in some areas but that didn't bother us. Would go again!

The staff at Grotto Bay were absolutely wonderful. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The property itself was a bit “tired” and could use a little love in some areas. The gym was very small, stuffy and a lot of equipment was broken and a few weights missing. They are doing some very nice renivafkons that look like they will be really nice when finished. The beach area is beautiful and the multiple levels of beach chairs were very interesting and pleasing to look at. Having a dock right next to the resort was convenient to book excursions or water activities. GB is an all inclusive resort but for those who don’t opt in to the meal plans, there is a VERY small continental breakfast you can pay for in the morning. It offered about 5 different pastries, cereal, yogurt and apples and oranges. You could get hard boiled eggs if you asked. Overall I think this is a wonderful place to bring kids but I’m not sure I would go back if it were just my husband and I.

Grotto Bay has always been a fun, family friendly place to stay in Bermuda. The resort is clearly working on upgrades but the rooms remain a bit dated.

For the most part. We enjoyed everything. We have been there before so we wanted to go with our children.
A few upsetting issues. The ice machine didn’t work I’m our bldg nor any of the bldgs next to us. I’m not going to walk around the whole complex looking for ice each night to have a night drink.
Another issue was the towels at the pool. Oh boy. 1 day we went the whole day without towels and the others not so great.
The staff was amazing all around. The beach front is great. The rooms were great ( except no ice. Obviously you see that upset me. I still don’t see how that is possible.
The blue hole was awesome and I’m so glad they were on the property
The buses schedule was crazy odd at the resort and hoping to get one in either direction. We waited with many tourist and countrymen and women for buses at NIGHT and some never came or drove by. One lady who lived there said she knew the driver and would report him. So we took taxis for the most part.
Oh well. Look not everything can or will be perfect. It was a great trip overall.

I thought the food was amazing but disappointed the Sunday brunch is not included in all inclusive. Prefer more night life although JD Bubbles ( DJ) was fabulous. occasionally ran out of towels at the pool so grab them early. Beach was beautiful and water float was a hit with my kids. Loved that all inclusive included kayaking, paddle boarding and use of water floats. Wish there was bar service on the beach. Loved swimming in the caves,

Pros: The property is located on a small but beautiful beach that has a floating, inflatable play area for kids during summer months. My kids ages 11 and 12 played there for hours each day. They loved it. Staff is friendly. Hotel is a 5 min walk to Swizzle Inn restaurant (great food) and Crystal and Fantasy Caves. The swimmable cave on property is amazing!! Breakfast was great.
Cons: walking to pool/beach or pretty much anywhere on property is long and requires going up and down many steps. This is not for anyone with mobility issues. I wish the pool was bigger. The indoor bar is very small for a resort. Dinner portions at Hibiscus were also very small. On hot sunny days it was difficult to find beach chairs. There are no shops within walking distance and cabs (and everything else on the island) are expensive.
Overall we had a good time but wish they had more evening activities within the resort. Perhaps shows, game night, bigger bar area with music, etc. If you want to relax and unwind this is a great resort. If you want a little more action or want to be able to walk to restaurants and shops then you might want to go somewhere else.

Very nice property - great ocean front, especially for younger kids with good waterfront activities.
Kitchen staff and waiters good. Bar staff not as pleasant.

My “deluxe ocean view room“ was a first floor room with a view of the maintenance shed and a few steps away from the corn hole yard which was actively being used. The front desk told me that I had to rent a “higher tier room” to actually see the ocean. I certainly would have if the Expedia description was truthful, and described these as resort/game lawn view rooms (and didn’t have a picture of a balcony overlooking the ocean attached to it)!
We rented a total of three rooms across my family. All rooms were dated and dirty with brown stains on the walls and drapes and oily stains on the flooring. The walkways were littered with dirty dishes throughout the day. All of the exterior walls had chipping paint, and the floors leading to the rooms were filthy.
The front door staff was very kind, but the bartender and host/hostess to the two restaurants were simply hostile. Every drink order or request for a table seemed like an unbearable chore. The manager “refused to believe this“ in spite of the fact that eight of us were present for it and endured it throughout the trip.
We were told there was a “semi formal dress code“ for the dining/bar area, yet the same space was filled with shirtless, shoeless drunk teenagers our first night.
There were no pool or beach towels available our first day there as wet, dirty towel littered the pool/beach area.
Finally, ROACHES in our room. I could not wait to leave.
