The hotel room was amazing, I would absolutely recommend it. The only minor niggle was that there was no lock or indeed catch on the bathroom door. Obviously not a problem for couples, but more difficult for families or friends. However, I have never been made to feel so unwelcome at a hotel in my life. Let me be clear, I don't expect staff to speak fluent English, we have an obligation to try with the local language. To give some background to this, I have GCSE grade A French, although I'm a little rusty and I'd just come from Germany so was struggling with the change in languages. HOWEVER, there are a small number of the French and German speaking population who have a really bad attitude to those who aren't completely fluent in their language (even those who try) and this was our experience that this hotel. The main culprit was (and I don't mean to be insulting, just to point out who to look out for) a short wide young lady. All staff (who to be fair were trying their best) couldn't do anything without referring to her, and she had the worst attitude problem that I've ever encountered. To give you an example, I checked in completely in French, but when I didn't understand "Identity card" rather than passport she became extremely hostile and angry. She clearly understood English well, but was too rude to help. Unfortunately when we used the restaurant it turned out that she was in charge of this as well, so we got the same rudeness. .. Shame as it's a lovely hotel
