With all the positive reviews I regret breaking this trend. However, my wife and I were thoroughly dissatisfied with this hotel. We stayed for only a few hours of our four-day paid stay, our initial impressions so negative that we did not want to taint our vacation by having an uncomfortable room. We are in our 60s, and it is possible that this hotel is not designed for people of our age. In our years of travel we have never had a hotel room where the shower was in the room itself, not separate and just feet away from the sleeping area. Even worse, the only sink in the room was also in the sleeping area, directly behind the bed; there would be no way to wash up without disturbing the sleep of the other person. The hotel does shield out the noise from the street, but is lacking in blocking out noise from outside the room. During our brief time we were disrupted by noises of someone cleaning the room next door, and then by a bunch of children who were loudly playing in the common area outside our room. From the start, they clearly sought to elicit as much money from its guests as possible. There is a list in the room of many items available for purchase. Further, on arrival we were told that we could avail ourselves of breakfast for 35 euros for each of us each morning, 280 euros in all. Unsurprisingly, the hotel refused to consider providing any refund for our prepaid 4 day stay, despite us having spent only a few hours there. Happily, we found a much better place.

I have the highest praise for the service in this hotel. It was exceptional. They put so much thought into the smallest details: from the chalkboard message next to our room welcoming our family to their hotel to the petit fours and sparkling wine on our bed to help unwind after the long flight. The beds were comfortable and the room was squeaky clean. Breakfast each morning was phenomenal. We were there for 4 nights, and there was a different printed menu each day. On our last day, we learned that the manager does a lot of the baking-- my husband loved her blueberry cake. In the late afternoons there is a complementary snack and beer. The front desk staff was so pleasant, informative, and helpful. I could go on and on. The location is also great, very central to the sites, subway, tons of restaurants and shopping. The only piece of advice I have for the hotel is to check their air conditioning system; I wish the room had been cooler. All in all, everything was outstanding.

We absolutely loved our stay at this amazing and family-friendly hotel! It was exceptional in every way!
