Horsham International Hotel

The check-in experience was really great, staff was extremely helpful, rooms were modern and clean, close to the town center. Only issue we had the restaurant did not cater for children.

We checked into this hotel around 5:30pm as a stopover from Melbourne. Upon entering our room there was a terrible smell, even our young children found it unpleasant immediately. The smell was so off putting me immediately opened the window, turned on the Aircon and went to dinner hoping it would be aired out by the time we returned. Unfortunately, an hour later when we returned the smell was still there. It was so bad that we decided to pack the car up and drive 5 hours home to Adelaide. We informed the receptionist who refused to take responsibility or even admit to the smell and/or offer any sort of refund. She advised us it was a pet free hotel while a massive black dog was sitting in the reception area. It was a very disappointing experience and we believe we should be refunded for this stay.

Staying at the International in Horsham was the singularly worst hotel experience of my life. The moment we walked into our room we were overpowered by a stench and could not immediately work out the source of the stink. It turned out that the stench was emanating from the bathroom, it was one of the most foul odours I've experienced. The staff were inattentive to our legitimate complaint. I would rather sleep in my car with my entire family than put my wife and children through that experience again. Next time we take a road trip to Melbourne we will be staying elsewhere. I strongly encourage you to reconsider if you're considering a stay at the International.
