Eaglereach Wilderness Resort

A perfect place to enjoy family quality time with nature. Amazing views, plenty of activities to have timeout from the everyday rat race and appreciate the precious simple things in life.

The resort is remote and navigation to it is not easy ... unmade and crude roads - at some point out of the town of Vacy, a sign indicates that "Eagle Reach Resort" is 5 km - believing this to be untrue, I measured this to be 11 km when I left. Once there, the drive is definitely worthwhile - the views are stunning, the property is extensive and well worth some hiking and swimming (there is a rather chilly lagoon but the water appears clean). Not sure what the population of kangaroos is - but they are everywhere so I took many photos - a family of roos appeared to be living underneath the lodge I was housed in - and when arguments broke out, tended to be noisy. There was a whirlpool in the lodge and I took advantage of the masseur (good) they had in their fitness center. The restaurant served simple food ... but OK, nothing fancy. I stayed at the resort as an escape from some business commitments in the Hunter Valley area - and it was the highlight of my trip to Australia.
