Peel Inn is a hospitable country pub, well patronised by locals. The staff were welcoming, the bars and dining room were cosy on a chilly winter evening, beer and wine choices were good, dinner was delicious. We booked an en-suite room, which was clean, with TV, sofa, tea/coffee tray comfortable bed with electric blankets, efficient air-conditioner and a supplementary heater, just in case...…. No fridge but with milk in a communal fridge, affordable drinks in the bar and full breakfast included in tariff, we didn't need it. The publican, whose family have owned the hotel for more than 100 years, cooked our breakfast and it was delicious. He was happy to chat and share his extensive knowledge of the district. Peel Inn is a hospitable country pub. It is not, and does not claim to be, a slick, sterile 5 star city hotel. We look forward to returning in warmer weather to enjoy watching the sunset from the top veranda and have a beer with the locals on the downstairs veranda.
