Tango de Mayo Hotel

We had a short one night stay - a stopover on our way to Bariloche. The hotel was lovely, had everything we needed. The service, however, was the most impressive. We needed to exchange local currency and buy a bus pass before heading to the airport and catching our 11:40am flight. Unfortunately the money exchange office wouldn’t open until 10am, and that the bus pass had to be paid in Argentine Peso. The front desk receptionist Guille surprised us by giving us 300 pesos, enough to cover the pass and two round trip fares for both my husband and myself. By then we checked out already. She did this without knowing if and when we’d be able to pay her back. 300-peso wasn’t a lot of money, but to serve our needs it was everything at the moment! Fortunately we were able to finish the two tasks before catching the plane, and that we did pay Guille back. Her generous and very kind help however, will stick with us as part of our nice Argentina travel memories forever. We’ve shared our experience and her good deeds with family and friends. We so appreciate the genuine human decency that regretfully we see less these days! Many, many thanks to Guille, and to the hotel that provided great service to us!
